The Appointment

We have to be honest - the SDA appointment didn't go quite as we had hoped. The first four files we were shown were for very sick little boys. Each had extremely severe health issues for which we are not prepared. We had hoped to find a little boy under 6. There was one healthy little boy aged 8.5 and a sibling group of a boy and girl aged 6 and 10. We have chosen to visit the little boy in the very eastern part of the country. He is only two and a half years older than the age we had hoped for. We will most likely leave very early Thursday morning.

Everyone at the SDA was extremely nice and friendly - they just stressed that there are no young healthy children available. We could have tried immediately for a second appointment in the hopes of a younger child becoming available but there are 150 families waiting for a second appointment.

Mike and Tara, I'm sure it was so hard to hear that there are not many young children. I'm excited that you're going to meet the 8.5-year-old, though! I'm eager to hear about him. I will be praying for you!
Hugs from Colorado,
Debbie

I'm glad that you found a healthy boy though and that you're on your way. We're asking for a young girl (under 4), but lately Q-ball has been asking us to bring home a brother who is his age...hmmmmmm.
I can't wait to hear how your meeting goes.

Hi Mike and Tara:

Our thoughts and prayers are with you for when you go to see the 8-1/2 year old boy. We are thinking of you both all the time and hope this little guy will win your hearts and you can bring him back with you. We will be anxious to see how things go there.

We love you both dearly,

Gammy and Dianne

We're sorry to hear the appointment was tough, but as parents preparing to travel, we appreciate your sharing the details.
We will keep you in our prayers as you travel to meet the little boy.

Mike & Tara - We're sorry to hear that it wasn't as you (and we) had hoped. We're thinking of you and are confident that the journey you're on will lead you to your child(ren). Our appointment with Jeffco is tomorrow, so we're excited about learning details of our next steps. We'll let you know as we know. Keep the faith!

Smiles,
Wendy & John =)

Hi to both of you:

We have thought of you so often since we know you are probably not able to send a message. Hope all is going well with the little guy and hopefully you are having time with him. We are anxiously awaiting and you probably are not able to send a message because of where you are and you might not be able to use a computer. Hope you both are feeling better.

Our love,

Gammy and Dianne
