Fun Times

Here's a few photos from our weekend activities...!

We drove down to Bass Pro Shops as they were hosting a kids event. They had all kinds of fun things for Nicholas to do from fishing to the shooting gallery to painting lures. Nicholas had a ball and Emma had fun looking at all the stuffed animals (she called each one a bear - one of her favorite words!).





I made brownies and for the first time let Emma have a taste...please welcome the world's newest Chocoholic! :o)


Nicholas' cub scout den had their annual cake bake to raise money. Each family makes a fun cake and then sells it at the den meeting. We searched the web and found the directions for this cake - it's a bathtub with two yellow rubber duckies (peeps). The "water" is blue jell-o. We had a lot of fun making it and our cake sold quickly!


Here's some funny photos of Emma - she loves getting into everything and loves any form of technology....from phones to remotes (and she has accidentally called 911 - thank goodness the operator was very understanding!).


Emma loves to put on hats - but it's hard to get a photo of her - I loved this one of her running away from me (because I had the camera!).

Emma's favorite book is "Goodnight Moon". She will search for the book and bring it to me to read it to her. She gets so excited when we get to the page of the "cow jumping over the moon" - because she gets to "Mooooo" like a cow! She purses her lips and puts everything she's got into her moo. :o)

And - drum roll please - here is Nicholas in his brand new SOLID green belt!!! He passed his written test on his first try (his instructor had us prepare him that the odds were he would not pass his first time). He literally shocked the instructor and us! This is the first test (in Taekwondo or in school) that he's had to study a book full of material and then take a written test. We are so proud of him for working so hard. Way to go Nicholas!!


And congratulations to my cousin Jason and his wife Paige on the birth of their daughter, Ahlia Sidney. Welcome to the family Ahlia - we cannot wait to meet you!
