Catch-up

We are still here!! Everyday seems to fly by and I'm crawling into bed thinking..."doh, I forgot to post to the blog again"...

So - let's backup to February. Nicholas went to his school Valentine's dance. He had a lot of fun running around and joking with his friends. Toward the end of the dance the DJ had the kids gather in a circle and had a hip-hop dance-off. Nicholas of course competed! :o) He had a hip-hop dance class last summer and he remembered all his moves. Nicholas came in second place! He can really shake his groove thing (am I old or what?).

Nicholas has been going non-stop with Taekwondo. He had another competition and he did great. He got a huge trophy for third place poomse and first place in sparring.

This was the first competition where Nicholas has tried to break a board. Since he's only just starting this - they use a plastic board that is like two tight-fitting puzzle pieces. He had great form but didn't quite manage to break it...but he really tried his best!

Nicholas has also started testing to go from a stripped green belt to a solid green belt. The testing process is really quite hard when you go for solid as he has the same requirements that adults have. The physical part of the test was last Saturday - and took 3 hours!! Yes, THREE Hours of solid poomses; kicking; and over 400 jumping jacks! He was one tired boy when it finished but countless black-belts came up to us and said how impressed they were with Nicholas' form and his energy (tell us about his energy!). He's still studying for the written part of the test. We hope he'll be ready for that in another week or so.

Emma has the walking down pat now. I think she's actually getting ready to start running as she can do speed-walking now. Here she is with her Daddy's knit hat - she loves putting this on and giggling!




Emma has discovered that she LOVES ribs!! My Dad would have been so proud!

Emma is such a happy girl - and her vocabulary is starting to build. She catches us off guard by repeating a word we say. She loves to blow kisses!
