Weekend at the Lake

Nicholas' friend had his birthday party at a lake north of Ft. Collins this past weekend. We bought a life preserver for Nicholas as he doesn't know how to swim yet (we've got to work on that this summer!). Nicholas was tentative about walking into the water and it took some convincing that the preserver would keep him above water. Once he trusted it - he had a great time playing in the water....as you can see by the joy Mike caught in this photo...

Here's Emma watching all the kids run around...you could tell she wanted to be running with them!

Nicholas went tubing and had a great time! Of course Mike and I were telling stories about how my Dad would drive the boat at mach 2 to try and throw us off the tube. Nicholas had an easier time and easier driver!

Nicholas slept by the lake in a pup tent with his friend (Kelton's family were there with them in an RV). Mike and I stayed at a hotel in Ft. Collins. We wanted to take Emma into the pool to see how she like swimming. But the pool was just too cold - I didn't want to scare her! So I sat on the edge of the hot tub and we let her feet dangle into the water. She seemed to enjoy it - and really liked Mike rolling a ball on the water toward her. Here is Emma and her Daddy

I remember your dads quest to knock you off the tube. He threw me off one time so hard and high I did a complete flip in the air before hitting the water (hard).

What precious pictures. It looks like Nicholas had a great time in the water. Emma looks like everyone in both sides of the family. She really looks like Mike in the picture where he is holding her.

Can't wait to see all of you.

*Goodness,* you are taking precious pictures. And I do love the absolute joy Nicholas shows in the water! :-D

From your Lilypie ticker, I see that Nicholas' tenth birthday is soon! What are your plans for celebration?
