Today the carpet guy came out and laid the carpet over our slate stairs. I honestly thought Mike might change his mind after seeing the tack strips glued down. We felt we had to do it as the slate is so hard and I don't think it would forgive much if Boris fell down the stairs.
fyi...for those that don't know - we have nicknamed our adopted son Boris. It WILL NOT BE HIS NAME...it's just easier to say "Boris" than "our adopted son". Much the same way women call unborn children "peanut" or another nickname instead of "unborn child".
Back to the stairs... So the carpet is down now and I must say it does look really good. Granted, the slate looked much better, but the carpet is nice and has really bouncy padding.
